The iPhone dilemna

It's simple. I want an iPhone. It does everything I want it to, I can check my Gmail, mobile blog, and do iPod things in addition to a phone. I have AT&T, so no problems there. I went and played with one today and they're just as awesome as they were the last time I played with them, the new SDK means there will probably be some useful and cool programs coming out, and the memory is now 16 GB which is now within what I'd be happy with.

So whats the problem?

$499

yikes. that's a lot of money, and I could feasibly buy it, but it was so hard to earn that much. Sally says I should buy one just to treat myself, but that seems foolish. hmmmm

thoughts?

Bye one. It is worth every cent! Perhaps you should wait till summer though and see if a new version comes out. I have one and love it to death! It does everthing and more :-). Congrats to you too!

iphones are very slick, and i know a lot of people that have them, but i'd say that you should wait until they come down in price... $500 for a phone seems like a bit much, especially for only 16 gigs of storage, and ESPECIALLY if you don't need a new phone to begin with!

by the way, are you coming to CPW?

i think you should try to buy a new one online, they sometimes have smaller prices, or wait for the phone 's price to go down like Karen said. $500 is a lot !!

Cingular at MIT = SUCKAGE!

Sorry, it's too bad, but unless you jailbreak it and go for T-Mobile you should probably just get a touch and a normal phone.

wish I could say it would be a good investment that would pay dividends in your old age...but it won't. You'll just have loads of fun, and love showing it off.
wait, isn't that reason enough to go buy one?

If the coverage sucks like Snively says it does then I'd just get an iPod Touch, I'm writting this comment on mine right now, and I love it! :). I'd say do NOT jailbreak the iPhone if you get one... Bye bye warranty and updates are hella hard to get I think...

Hope that helps!
